Plastics

In the field of plastic processing, you can turn to us for molding, assembling, and machining. We are constantly engaged in innovative solutions, always striving for improvements to stay at the forefront of plastic processing.

Transparent and non-transparent plastic sheets

Allplast has access to a wide range of plastic (sheet) materials, available in both transparent and non-transparent versions. Examples include:

  • Polycarbonate
  • PETG
  • Acrylic
  • SAN
  • Foamed PVC
  • Trespa
  • Dibond
  • ABS

With these diverse materials, we can manufacture a wide variety of products for you.

Processing Techniques for Plastics

Below you will find a detailed explanation of the various processing techniques we apply. We strive to indicate the tolerances as accurately as possible and take the thermal expansion coefficient into account.
  • Plastic bending

Using so-called heating tables, small sections of materials like Acrylic are heated, making the material pliable and allowing it to be bent. The maximum width is 2,300mm. On the corresponding bending table, the material can be bent at the correct angle and secured, so that after cooling, the material retains the desired shape. Multiple bends can be made in a single operation.

  • Cold forming of plastic

This is applied to polycarbonate. It can be used to manufacture, for example, machine covers. The maximum size is 2,500mm, and the maximum pressure is 83 tons. In essence, this machine cold-bends the material and converts it into the desired angle.

  • Plastic Milling

For milling plastic, a CNC mill is used. This is a machine with a flat table equipped with a strong vacuum. The table can be divided, for example, into two work halves. On one side, a sheet is placed, while milling is done on the other side. With the available software, it is possible to efficiently mill various dimensions and shapes from a large sheet (nesting module). Tolerances are plus or minus 0.1 mm in length and width. The small upper and lower mills are used for small milling tasks, edge breaking, rounding corners, etc.

  • Drilling of plastic

Using a radial drill, it is possible, among other things, to drill and tap.

  • Plastic Bonding

Bonding or adhering plastic sheet material is one of our core activities. This can involve the use of contact adhesives, 1K, or 2K adhesives. Allplast excels in bonding plastic units/components to over 60,000 units per year on a customer level. To support our bonding work, we have two ovens available: a conveyor belt oven at 35°C and a vacuum oven up to 90°C.

  • Polishing / flame polishing of plastic

In this process, imperfections on cut and milled edges are "melted closed." This method results in a beautifully glossy and clear surface. It is the only way to polish round shapes and inner contours.

  • Diamond Polishing of Plastic

In this process, a diamond mill removes a layer of approximately 0.5mm, creating a very clear and beautifully polished surface. It can polish materials up to a maximum thickness of about 20mm. This technique is only applicable to materials with straight sides. The included stand and the so-called continuous system provide the ability to polish the sides of long sheets.

  • Cutting Plastic

Cutting plastic is done using a panel saw with dimensions of 4,200 x 4,200mm. The maximum cutting thickness is 90mm. The saw is equipped with a roller conveyor to prevent scratching of the sheets. Additionally, the saw is equipped with a dust extraction system to minimize dust on the sheets. Tolerances: -0.2mm and +0.2mm.

  • Laminating Plastic

Allplast develops and manufactures anti-ballistic glazing/laminates made from PC/PMMA (and glass). These products are used as (personal) safety materials, including bulletproof visors and shields or impact-resistant safety glass. Allplast uses two autoclaves for this production, with capacities of 4,500m3 and 22,000m3. They produce for both the private sector and the government (defense).
